WebAxwell Park and Derwent Valley Angling Association has access to approx. 4.5 miles of Brown Trout and Grayling fishing on the Lower River Derwent, which is itself a tributary of the River Tyne. The fishing stretches from Lintzford downstream through Rowlands Gill, Gibside Estate, Thornley Woods, Winlaton Mill and finishes at Swalwell road bridge.
